previously on revenge: absolution
Ten years ago, before her quest for revenge, Emily was Amanda Clarke, clubbing, drinking, punching jerks, and she believed her father was guilty. Nolan tried to convince her to read the journals her father left behind so she could hear the truth. But Amanda isn’t sure she can trust her father. She decides to go on a little quest for the truth. Her quest takes her to the Hamptons, and more specifically the stowaway. She finds a long haired younger Jack and his girlfriend.
Ten years ago the Grayson’s received a dramatic note, which prompted them to throw a New Year’s party for all those involved in the David Clarke incident. Frank would do some investigating and try to discover who sent the ominous note. Queen Victoria seems very remorseful about the whole David Clarke incident. Almost as if she wants to wash her hands of all the dirty deeds that have been done in the Grayson name.
While hanging at the stowaway Amanda overhears that Jack’s girlfriend has a gig at Grayson manor that she can’t make it to. Amanda offers to fill in for her and give her 25% of what she makes. At the party Amanda meets all the people who her father mentions in his diary including the one ally he had. The initial interview with his ally, Halstead, is disappointing and Amanda doesn’t know what to believe. But later, after Frank does some fishing and determines that Halstead is probably the one who sent the Grayson’s the threatening note and forces Halstead to “commit suicide”, Amanda finds him dead. She also find the note he left and determines that Nolan is right and her father was wrongly accused of a crime he didn’t commit so that the Grayson’s wouldn’t be ruined. And thus Amanda begins her quest for revenge.
Quotes
Victoria: “For a man with a penchant for writing letters, you would think that Roger would have left a suicide note.”
Kristen is a confused young adult who sometimes thinks TV shows are actually her life. Wouldn’t that be cool? Unless she was a victim on Dexter, or a deranged privileged teenager on gossip girl, or a wolf on teen wolf, or Liz Lemon! Never mind. It wouldn’t be cool. Kristen is a young adult.
